The International AI Development Foundation (IAIDF) is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to funding public-interest AI.
We were established around a simple premise: artificial intelligence will shape the quality of institutions, economic opportunity, public service delivery, and international development, and philanthropic capital should help steer that transition toward broad public benefit rather than narrow advantage.
IAIDF is funding-led by design. We support organizations, research initiatives, educational efforts, and collaborative programs that can improve how AI is developed, governed, and applied in practice. Our focus is not only on technical progress, but on whether capable institutions can use AI responsibly, whether access expands rather than contracts, and whether social value can be created at meaningful scale.
Our outlook is international. We believe responsible AI development requires stronger capacity across regions, clearer governance, more open knowledge, and better pathways for public-interest organizations to participate in the field. That is why our priorities span research and open science, education and talent, governance and safety, public-interest implementation, and ecosystem partnerships.
Funding remains our primary instrument, but not our only contribution. IAIDF also aims to help connect funders, institutions, and operators around high-value opportunities where strategic support can strengthen the wider ecosystem for responsible AI development.
This site will continue to evolve as the foundation grows. It is intended to serve as the public home for our mission, funding priorities, institutional model, and future programs.
